Hi Robert,
I don''t really have a question that would fit here, but I'd like to say thanks for all the good work you've done. Also thanks to you and Heather for coming to Sweden earlier this year, it was very nice meeting you both and I got a wonderful picture. I think you're the best ambassador of horror today! Keep it up!

As a balding, slightly overweight guy (i.e. redditor), I sometimes feel it would be nice to get compliments for my looks, free tickets to shows, and the like. On the other hand, I understand that it must suck most of the time to be the object of sexual attention from strangers.

Do you ever daydream of being a balding, overweight guy just for a day?

Dear Mr. Bogdanovich,

Nice of you to stop by. I like your attitude!

Now, the question. Targets is a film which is dear to me. Care to share any tidbits on the making of it, or perhaps how it was received? What was Karloff like to work with? And are you aware that Neal Adams told the story in comic book form, with a script by Jim Stenstrum?

If I may offer a somewhat opposing view ...

What I think is going on is that movies have to employ the large screen and lush sounds of the cinema to make people want to come there. Thus, superhero movies make sense, but they are so expensive that they have to be sold all over the world, to millions of people. Thus, the dialogue has to be so simple that nothing is lost in translation. This is why movies that are not so intellectually deep are dominating cinemas now. All the good "adult" stories are doing well, but they live on various streaming services.

I don't think this is all bad, and I don't feel like I can't watch a popcorn movie one day and something completely different the next. Also, self-distribution has become very easy, so I guess it's a tiny bit easier to make independent films these days.
