Jordan Dyrdhal-Roberts quit his job because he was ask to work with data that could help the US government and police track undocumented immigrants. He quit because he thought this was unethical for him to do. In doing so, he was trying to show that he was a good person and had a solid moral ground.

But I don't think Jordan even thought about his stupid decision, he was too high on his moral horse to realize that illegal immigration is a problem, and helping the government could help the immigrants that are trying to get to the US the legal way. Illegal immigration is, by its own definition, illegal, which mean the people crossing are criminals.
