This concept is riddle by anecdotal evidence and very little science. Doubt you will find anything significant.

As for the heat pump, I actually work with these and while they are great, without a geothermal heat source (or similar) you won't see 300 pct efficiency in the colder months. An air sourced heat pump will under some conditions go as low as 100 pct as it won't be able to extract heat from the air and only produce hear through its' internal electric heater.

Sure 10 americans would cause a fuzz, but more than a few short lived sanctions and harsh words? Never.
