No! Why? What's the definition of a sandwich? I mean I don't even know the definition but...no a hotdog is a hotdog. Its own category.

Hi Ms. Longoria, you were absolutely incredible on Desperate Housewives. If you could go back and film any episode of Desperate Housewives again, which episode would you choose? Thank you so much!
theevalongoria130 karma
My favorite episode to date is still the pilot. I don't know if it was because of the excitement, or the newness, but it's my favorite episode because of the mowing of the lawn, and the introduction of all the characters. By far my favorite.

Yeah! When he was a rookie, people would shout, "Eva! Eva! Eva!" in the stands, and I felt so bad that we shared nearly the same name. Everybody asked him in interviews all the time about whether or not we were related. And he is such a good baseball player, I think he wanted to be known for that, but reporters would ask him if he was related to me. But yeah, people still think we're the same person.

What was it like working with Andy Samberg and the rest of the cast on Brooklyn 99?
theevalongoria75 karma
Oh, I love Andy Samberg. It was my favorite comedy, obviously before Telenovela. I had said that in an interview, and I guess somebody saw it because the show called me to be on it. And I said, "Yes of course I would love to be on it!" I was friends with Andy since I'd worked on SNL over 10 years ago. It was just such a fun gig to do, being surrounded by all those funny, talented people.

What was it like working on Foodfight! ? Did you ever watch the movie after it was done? Who pitched the idea to you?
theevalongoria45 karma
No! I never watched the movie, nor did I meet any of the other actors in the movie. I just worked on it in a sound booth and then I never saw it. But I loved the idea and the concept; it was such a cute script. Charlie Sheen and Hilary Duff were in it!
theevalongoria97 karma
Oh my god, one time I auditioned for The Love Boat. The new Love Boat obviously because I was too young for the old one. And they asked me if I could sing, and I wanted the roll so bad I said yes. And they go, "Okay! Like, go ahead!" and I was like, "Ohhh, right now?" I didn't think they would make me sing in the room. And I did. They probably looked at me like, "She thinks she can sing?" I obviously can't even sing Happy Birthday.

Hi Eva! You were my absolute favorite on Desperate Housewives. Do you still keep in touch with your former cast mates?
theevalongoria78 karma
Yes, I keep in touch more with Felicity Huffman, and Marcia Cross, and of course my husband, Ricardo Chavira. I love them to death; they were my family for nearly a decade.
eallin42 karma
Hi! What is your favorite food in the whole world? How do you keep in shape?
theevalongoria61 karma
Mexican food is my favorite food. I'm a runner, so I run a lot, although I haven't been doing it for the past couple weeks. I exercise. Other than running I did pilates, I trained in yoga, I do weights. I try to mix it up because I get bored so easy.

Loved your Golden Globe skit with America Ferrera a few weeks back. What are you most looking forward to in 2016?
theevalongoria30 karma
I had so much fun with America at the Golden Globes. I'm looking forward to my new show going to a second season, and probably directing more.
theevalongoria61 karma
I love to sew! That's a deep dark secret nobody knows about me, I love to sew. I love to sew dresses for all of my friends, and Halloween outfits for my nieces and nephews.

I've heard of your famous guacamole recipe -- the world wants to know: what is it?
theevalongoria79 karma
Well, you have to buy my cookbook. Haha, no just kidding.
The key to guacamole is to use fresh-squeezed lemon instead of lime, and to use serrano peppers for the heat if you want it spicy, instead of jalapenos. The rest, just basically whatever you want.

How large is your support team? It seems like you're accomplishing way too much for one mortal person.
theevalongoria44 karma
Pretty large! I have a great team of people who have organized my life and keep me on time and on track. It definitely takes a village.
theevalongoria33 karma
I'm actually the exact opposite of Gaby Solis! She is selfish and narcissistic, and I would hope I'm not those things. Although, she was so much fun to play, and I do miss her.

Hi Eva. What's your favorite spooky story? As a follow up, do you prefer skeletons or ghosts?
theevalongoria54 karma
Oooh, I don't know what you mean by "prefer", haha! Neither? But I definitely like scary movies, and I love the tale of La Llorona, which translates to "the weeping woman." It was a scary folk tale I grew up with that always scared the crap out of me as a little girl.

Hi Eva,
What inspired you to start the Eva Longoria Foundation and what has the success rate been like? I also appreciate what you do for people with special needs!
theevalongoria58 karma
Aw, well thank you! Thank you so much. I actually have a special needs sister who's mentally disabled, so for me it was vital that I help the communities that gave back to me and my family. My foundation has been doing amazing work. We have some successful programs with parental engagement, education, and entrepreneurship. So it's definitely something I'm passionate about; something that will be my life's work. I never really "got the idea", it was always something I knew I would do.

Hi Eva - I'm a big fan! My question is in regards to your impressive schedule and your ability to manage producing, directing, and acting. Which of these do you prefer and do you find yourself having to cut back on one to pursue the other?
theevalongoria24 karma
Not as far as acting, producing, and directing, but I do usually have to juggle a lot of my personal life around my jobs. I love working but I also love vacationing, so I am pretty efficient with my time management.
gabrielascz_11 karma
Hi, Eva! My name is Gabriela Sanchez and I'm from Brazil. I'm such a huge fan! Ok, let's go! Would you like to work with Lana Parrilla one day? It would be awesome to see you both working together! Lots of love.
theevalongoria19 karma
Yes! I love Lana, she's a dear friend of mine. We definitely have to find something to work together on. She's one of the sweetest human beings alive.

Hello Eva,
Where would you go in the world for the most romantic dinner if travel time was not an issue?
Thanks in advance,
theevalongoria22 karma
Oooh, that's a good one. Probably Paris. I love eating in Paris. I think it's the most romantic city in the world, with some great cuisine. So for me, I would go to Paris every day for dinner.
theevalongoria24 karma
Best concert? Oh my gosh, I went to a Heart concert at the Hollywood Bowl, which was so much fun. And then, just last night I went to see the Broadway play On Your Feet, which is basically all of Gloria Estefan's real-life stories to her songs. So that was pretty amazing!
madezra748 karma
Hi Eva, what do you enjoy doing on your time off?
Do you get much time off?
theevalongoria19 karma
I probably have a good amount of time off when I need it. When I'm in vacation mode, I'm in vacation mode. When I'm in work mode, I'm in serious work mode. I love to stay home and cook. I also love spa days, I love massages, I love facials. But really just staying home and opening a nice bottle of wine.

1) What's the favorite project you have been involved with? 2) Have you ever had a crush on one of your co-stars in a movie or show? 3) Have you ever accidentally hurt someone during a stunt, like kicked them in the balls or something?
theevalongoria20 karma
I can't remember hurting anybody. I'm sure I have, but I can't remember it right now.
I've never fallen in love with a costar. I actually get highly allergic to people once they are my costars. It almost feels like it becomes a brotherly love instantly. And, as for my favorite project, I think it has to be Telenovela, because I developed it all the way from idea to inception to production to marketing...the whole thing. And so, for me it's probably the thing I'm most proud of because I've worked so hard on it, and I think it's so funny.

Do you have rituals that you do to keep yourself sane with your busy schedule?
Ex: Wake up to Hanson - Mmmbop every morning, 10 min meditation, activia at 2pm, pray before bed...
theevalongoria16 karma
Oh yeah. I definitely pray every morning and every night. Running is meditative to me, so I usually have a better day if I get to get up and run. But yeah, definitely praying is something I do in the morning and at night.

I remember reading something a long time ago that you identify with cats more. Would you call yourself a cat lady? =)
theevalongoria12 karma
No, when I was younger I was more of a cat person. I actually love all animals now.

Do you ever wish you were not famous? What do you think you'd be doing as a career?
Also, any tips to improve my headshot
Thanks!
theevalongoria12 karma
I never thought I'd be famous, nor did I ever wish to be famous growing up. I decided to move to LA and become an actor, and then everything just kind of happened. I would probably work in corporate America somewhere, because I like deadlines, and quotas, and measurements; clear measurements of success.
For the headshot, I would definitely want a more contemporary headshot. That one looks like an old-fashioned photo.
theevalongoria9 karma
We won't know until April or May if we get a season 2. But our season finale is this Monday. And if you miss it, you can binge watch online at nbc.com or the NBC app, or Hulu or iTunes. There are sooo many ways to view it now!

Eva, hunting is cruel and outdated. Would you consider not partaking in this murderous 'sport'?
theevalongoria7 karma
You'll be happy to know I do not partake in hunting, nor do I wear fur.
