I am an EMT, and I have had someone die within an hour of starting to feel really bad from a PE. Even a legitimate marriage will not get you citizenship. My sister is married to an illegal whose visa expired years ago. They have been married for 5 years, and he still cannot get citizenship. Also, yes I realize the way I worded it seems weird, but they actually fell in love and got married before she ever even knew he was here illegally.

How difficult is it to get a job in the ER straight out of nursing school? I'm starting nursing school in January, and I have a little over 4 years of 911 experience as an EMT. I really couldn't see myself doing anything else besides working in the ER because of the passion I've developed for being in that type of environment. I eventually want to be an NP, so would ER experience be okay, or do schools prefer ICU experience?
