This was the first question that popped into my head when I saw the AMA. I really hope he answers it.

One might use the word "progress" in place of "growth" to highlight the difference. In other words, if we focused more on progress and less on growth we might have a more balanced and healthy economy.

Do you worry that you won't live to see the singularity?

The fact that we are on the threshold of possibly the most important time in human history is very exciting to me. Think how bad it would suck if you got hit by a car the day before the advent of superhuman AI? I'm 38 now. What are my odds of having a conversation with an AI that passes the Turing test?

What I'd like to see:

Large scale investment in infrastructure and jobs programs to alleviate the unemployment situation we have in this country right now.

Meaningful regulation of the financial industry.

Promotion of science and critical thinking in all aspects of public life in America. It appears that to be an acceptable candidate for President in the Republican party you have to be an anti-science creationist global-warming denying vaccine conspiracy theorist. This scares my balls off.

Please try and do something about this stuff.
