Edible dosage is all over the place. Some 10mg edibles barely give me a buzz, and some put me out for a few hours. While the mental effects are hard to judge off of (due to set and setting often contributing as much to the effects as the dosage), I have noticed some of the more heavily dosed "10mg" edibles drop my blood pressure quite substantially to the point of being uncomfortable.
My guess would be that your switching between brands and happened to get one that was particularly hot, or the one in the past was just weaker.
Another possibility is that the brands are doing their math right, but not decarboxilating their thca into thc properly. Thca is inactive when ingested, so a 10mg edible thats still 1/2 thca would FEEL like a 5mg edible even though there's technically 10mg of cannabinoid in the gummie. The other possibility is that they are decarboxilating at too high of a temp or for too long, which can break down the thc molecule into non psychoactive compounds. So, same as above in effect.

Hey, I bought some edibles a bit ago and the guy behind the counter was going on about how they had some "nano technology" to make it absorb faster. I kind of blew it off, but they did have a noticeably quicker come up to the other gummies I have tried in the past.
The packaging still said THC, so I dont think they converted it to 11-hydroxy-thc before hand to bypass the need to metabolize it. (Unless they can get away with marking any form of THC as just "THC")
I know there are some solvents such as DMSO that change the absorption mechanism of some drugs (such as skin patches), but I assume that isn't what was being used in those edibles... Since people would freak out about "chemicals", and specifically with DMSO people would complain about a garlic taste.
Any idea on the mechanism of action used?

The big problem isn't the chip, its all the supporting bits needed to make it work, those are magnitudes of size larger. (Ie, how are you going to power it, how are you going to encapsulate it so the body doesn't reject it, how do you plan on storing data, how are you going to package your antenna)
I have a dangerous things implant in my hand. It was pretty small, and by that I mean a 6ga needle and a little over a quarter inch long. Its NFC, so its powered by the same antenna used to pull data off it, which is a bummer since that means the chip can't do much when its not right next to an antenna, and even with a high gain directional antenna you would be lucky to read it at a few feet. With a conventional antenna, it has to be touching my skin
Also, good luck not feeling a 1/4" long hard object placed right below the skin!

Doesn't the telecommunications act of 1996 show that the first instance doesn't work? ISP's seem reluctant to upgrade infrastructure even when handed money to do so.
