I worked at a large university as a building supervisor. I responded to dozens of injuries, crisis, etc.

In one instance I had a doctor state that I had saved a students life who cut himself on glass he punched out while drunk. He cut an artery and I responded quickly.

I still got sued. I felt extremely betrayed. What made it worse was the person still lived in my facility.

The lawsuit was dropped. Didn't go far. I was still angry and I doubted myself. Someone higher up gave me some great insights. When people go through a traumatic injury or incident, it causes emotional trauma as well. Often, that manifests itself in a sort of grieving process and blame starts to take over. Throw in some lawyers talking in their ear, bills piling up, and their parents and family members all supporting their misapplication of blame, and you find yourself the the object of their blame.

All I can say is that you cannot take it personally. This is a person as damaged inside as they were outside, and sooner or later they will finally deal with their own culpability.

You did the right thing and saved a life. The rest isn't even a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things.

It's really disappointing considering the whole style and tone of her show.
