Mr Nutt, looking back do you think the mephedrone ban in the UK was justified?

At the time I recall you said that there was not enough scientific evidence to support a ban but what about the wealth of anecdotal evidence? As someone that used mephedrone from Jan 2010 until the ban in April 2010 I was VERY relieved when it was banned because my social circle and I were in no doubt that it was dangerous and destructive.

I can only speak from my experiences of the UK club scene - the mephedrone era also happened to coincide with an MDMA drought and after the ban MDMA started to reappear again. It's also clear that many UK clubbers would have turned to ketamine after the mephedrone ban

My father was mostly absent, mother extremely overprotective with paranoid personality disorder and narcissistic traits too.

Some of her paranoia has rubbed off on me, I hold grudges and push people away. I'm high on introversion and disagreeableness.

How can I fix this?

Here's a poem I wrote for an open mic night about my experiences on mephedrone!

First question is great, based on my experience of mephedrone I am against legalisation of drugs in the UK. Having stuff that powerful and harmful readily available is wrong and the potential for abuse is just too high. Looking back at the Mephedrone era I am so thankful that I had a full time Monday-Friday career to hold down - this meant I had to make sure I was fully recovered from the friday-saturday night excesses in time for work and also had to avoid the temptation to go out weeknights - I know kids that ended up dropping out of Uni because they were mephedrone binging all week

Honestly, the club scene in my city was radically different when that stuff was going round. All of a sudden drug use went from being something that went on in club toilets or in private to being something that sudddenly everyone was public about or blase about. You couldn't get away from the stuff, even if I wanted to take a weekend off the fact it was so cheap and readily available meant that there was no shortage of people offering you some.

Fuck, I even won 10g of mephedrone from twitter just for retweeting something.
