Having witnessed our government and social change for so long, have there been any changes in direction that were a surprise? Are there things you wish you had seen the US do differently?

I work at UNC and our children's hospital is across the street (all our hospitals are in a row). There are all kinds of children there. I was walking on the sky walk behind a child that had braces on his legs or a device and was receiving treatment, so hooked up to IVs. This mom coming towards him stage whispers/hisses at her kids not to stare. It pissed me off so much - those kids probably wouldn't have anyway, but that child could hear her. I would feel worse hearing a mom say that - I feel like parents should lead by example.

I'm totally impressed with some of the things you've said your dog can do. My lab is sort of a duffus and I'm always fascinated with service dogs. What are some of the cooler things your dog can do? When you said he can help you out of your coat or you can tell him to find a curb cut, I was so amazed. I'm glad you have such a good companion!
