Hello Jim!
As an attorney, I have only one question I really want to ask:
Did reading Kennedy's final paragraph of the opinion bring a tear to your eye? It is...fairly obvious you were the party he was speaking of when he referred to " a love that may endure even past death."
I take that back, I have two questions:
While I stand in awe of the decision, and of you, I was wondering if you're going to see a rush of "bad decision" marriages among younger GLBTQ persons? You know, the impulsive "it's legal, let's do it" sort of deal? Because, full disclosure, I'm seriously considering seeking out the soon to be booming divorce niche that's gonna open up.
In all seriousness, congratulations...not on the loss of your partner, obviously, my condolences on that, but that your love has had such a world-shaking impact on the lives of every person who will come after you.

Strange question but...
...how do you feel about elderly camp guards, officers, etc. being brought to trial for the atrocities committed during the Holocaust? Is there any amount of time where they may have redeemed themselves in the last 70 years, such that they should be labelled, but not imprisoned or executed?
Note, before people jump on the downvote express: I hear these arguments about how these people should be allowed to live the remainder of their lives in peace, or how ridiculous it is to expend resources on tracking, trying, and imprisoning/executing surviving camp guards/officers/personnel. I want a survivor's perspective, since survivors are the voice of those who suffered and were subject to the crimes committed.

My grandfather died in '78, my nana (his wife) in 2006.
Almost 30 years. Her response when a man who later became quite wealthy "courted" and then proposed to her?
"You're sweet, but I've only loved one man in my life, and while he's not here I'm still HIS wife."

"I already fought Scalia . . . and won"
I'm printing that out and putting it in my giant folder of "quotes I want to say one day"
