Have you ever considered writing a book? While I have had some poor luck with my own writing, I think in a situation like yours people would really like to hear your story. (Not to mention you could make some money at it?)

That's awesome! What publisher? And yes, up front royalties have taken a nose dive as of late, but with your fan base you should see plenty of sales. Are you going to keep writing? Or is this a one shot deal.

I did this with my work in December and topped out at over 5k free downloads. In the end it made little to no difference in my actual sales. Are you afraid that this is just people going for the freebie and that your work will fade once it's over?

If he puts it up on Smashword, you can grab it. However, under the rules of KDP he can't...maybe in 3 months he will.

Sadly, this is not the top. Any book put up free will hit the top 100, I have done it myself. The free rankings don't transfer to paid either. Will it hold up after it goes back paid, I hope so for his sake, but I expect it to drop off the radar quickly. Here's hoping I am wrong.
