how long do you spend on each application including the essay? Why do colleges wait until March to notify students of their decision?

Does your possibly impending death influence your outlook on religion and afterlife at all? Like do you find yourself praying more if you're religious already or becoming religious if you were a non theist before?

Wow. First of all I must thank you for your reply sir. After reading your response I feel this is one of the most insightful posts on religion I have ever seen on this website or perhaps of all places. I'm an atheist and I'm filled with respect with people like you. Just like you said I also try not to bother anyone about their religion unless it subjugates, oppresses or harms other people. I really enjoyed reading your post but now I'm overcome with sadness. The world needs more people like you. It's really something when I read something on this site that makes me question my beliefs, my thinking, or my own character. I'm no judge of character but I feel you are an outstanding person with an interesting outlook on life and I know that if you pass away I will sorely miss you and I'd feel the world is minus one incredible person and we will never bear witness to any future accomplishments you possibly could've achieved. I feel I can only say this; thank you for making the world a better and more insightful place.

Do you learn the science of fires? Anything interesting that most people don't know?

As a follow up question.. Some veterans are uncomfortable with being thanked for their service. How do you react to this and in general how should the public show their thanks towards veterans?
