I'm sure you'll probably miss this, and it isn't a question, but I have to say your attitude towards development and management has always been really inspiring to me. It takes a lot to come out on the internet and admit weaknesses or flaws in your product, I have a lot of respect for that!
Also, for what it's worth, I absolutely adore the product you put together, so I think those "mistakes" are few and far between :P

I think a lot of your concerns are either A) Because they don't want to spoil bits of the story. Talion's resurrection and Celebrimbor's character are questions in the game that I think they are trying to explore and flesh out, the details that we have are at a basic level.
Secondly, when you are dealing with a book that has already been "ported" to a visual medium (in this case film) people expect that the rest of the visual media that follow will resemble the original one. For example, when Harry Potter made some (shitty) video games, all the characters and scenery was based on the movies, becuase that was the canon for the visual aspects of this universe. For those of us who aren't as invested in the books we expect the game to look like Jackson's films.
Some of your timeline questions are valid but I think they "fudged the numbers a bit" to get an interesting story with familiar characters.
Well written post though, you don't deserve the downvotes.

So, we've seen 4 warchiefs shown in a demo, so does that mean we have 4-6 hours of game play contained within the nemesis system? Sorry to keep grilling you on this, but you can imagine a single player only game, game time is important :p thanks for your replies!

Approximately how long will this take (branding all the warchiefs) in many of the demos you have shown you are able to brand one or two in about an hour.

And, in my anecdotal experience, community College professors are often former industry professionals who have a passion for teaching. Universities will hire doctors who have never and will never work a day in the field, loaded with book knowledge, who don't care much for teaching.
Of course there are exceptions at both ends of the spectrum. Some CC professors will have horribly out of date info or just aren't as knowledgeable, and some University professors really do see teaching as a large portion of their job and leverage the resources to create a great experience. I've had both. But I'm very glad that I went to Community College first.
