Hi Ben, If our withdrawal is due more to giving up than accomplishing our goals, isn't giving up more of an acknowledgement that these goals could not be achieved via military intervention in the first place? Seems that this was doomed to fail from the start since it's also the forces of tradition and culture that we're up against, not just the Taliban.

Are you keeping in contact w/ Major Steuber to find out whether his honesty on camera will be punished? I was in the military and that's always how it works. It's difficult and dangerous to attempt to communicate to your superior's boss that he's lying. Especially if they both want the lie to be true. You risk creating two powerful enemies instead of one.
