Why did Dana think her son would be safer with people who had no idea of the danger he was in, rather than protected by her, who was aware of the details, and had more experience that would likely be able to shelter him?

It was just the one thing that stood out to me as a little counter-intuitive.

I also want to thank you for creating an excellent series. The X-Files was one of the earliest foundations of bonding that I had with my stepdad. Thanks for making something exciting and intriguing that always provided us with conversation starters and gave us a common thread to work from :)
