What does your niece think about some of the existential-crises-inducing sci-fi ideas explored in the World of Tomorrow films?

A lot of the talk I've heard surrounding the discovery of gravitational waves concerns its effect on the validity of Einstein's theories of relativity. How does the LIGO team feel about the discovery in terms of supporting his theoretical claims? Are there other major scientific claims affected by the outcome of the LIGO experiment as well?
