many new and emerging documentary filmmakers struggle with the catch-22 of fundraising - they have trouble securing funds because they are unknowns without an established body of work, yet how can one establish a name and a body of work without needed funds and support? I'm wrestling with that now on my current production.
How did you manage to get funded in the early years when you were an "unknown?" How did you convince funders to lend support to your early efforts, and persuade them that a film about the Brooklyn Bridge, or shakers, was worth their consideration?
