Hi, I’m Debbe Dunning from “Home Improvement” where I played the Tool-Time girl. I’ve got a new travel show coming out this Fall on RFD-TV called “Debbe Dunning’s Dude Ranch Roundup – AMA!
Thanks for all your questions! Don't forget to tune in to my new show Debbe Dunning's Dude Ranch Roundup on Friday, Nov 3rd at 10pm ET/7pm PT on RFD-TV!
You probably remember me from my 7 year run as the Tool-Time girl, Heidi, from Home Improvement. I’ve got a new travel show coming out called Debbe Dunning’s Dude Ranch Roundup. I’ve also been in episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Boy Meets World, Baywatch and Married with Children. I’ve also appeared in commercials for Taco Bell, Foot Locker, Ford and Miller Beer. I am a proud mother of 3 and I love adventure!
Debbe Dunning’s Dude Ranch Roundup brings the experience of dude ranches straight to your living room as I travel every week to visit unique ranches that are scattered throughout this great country. My hope is that by watching the show it creates an interest for viewers to experience one for themselves. My goal is to visit all of the dude ranches in the U.S. and beyond and feature all of the wonderful amenities each has to offer. This season I explore so many places and adventure to the white water rapids in Colorado, mountain biking in Arizona to exploring the petroglyphs in Montana.
Debbe Dunning’s Dude Ranch Roundup premieres Friday, November 3rd at 10pm ET/7pm PT on RFD-TV. To check your local listings and learn more about RFD-TV please visit http://www.rfdtv.com/.

Well I want to first start off by saying thanks so much that's extremely flattering. And I think some of the allure to becoming a sex symbol is having that other side of you that is sweet and wholesome. I think it only enhances your beauty.

Yes he did. I can't exactly remember how but his back went out and it was unfortunately the week we were shooting the musical number where there was all this dancing. I remember he was sitting in the back of the convertible and he was in so much pain. But that boy works hard. He was hurting but he worked through the pain.

Did you get to keep any Binford Tools gear when Home Improvement ended?
DebbeDunning23 karma
No the only tools that I kept were the ones that Tim Allen gifted the crew with. But I do still own my boots.

What's one of the coolest things you've got to do at a dude ranch so far?
DebbeDunning11 karma
I'd like to say one of the coolest but there are so many. Like zip-lining, white water rafting, taking a 6x6 military vehicle 3 hours up a very steep terrain to get to the top of this mountain where there's still snow on the ground. I can't just say one. There have been too many different experiences!

If you could steal a smooch from any guy in Hollywood who would it be?

Did you enjoy the character you played on Home Improvement? What was it like on set? Thanks!!
DebbeDunning18 karma
Yes I enjoyed my character very much. I loved the fact that Heidi was down to Earth, wholesome and equally as knowledgeable about the tools. Working on the set was incredible, everyday was different but always one that I will treasure.

Well you must be talking about his heart and he's got one of the biggest hearts I know. I am very close to him still we golf together frequently.

Saw it said you were a mother of three - do you think it's easier to raise boys or girls?
DebbeDunning25 karma
Children are different. I don't think the sex of the child has anything to do with it, I think it has to do with the individual personality. I have both and they are all equally challenging and as they are all equally a complete blessing.

There was this one time where I was shooting out in Palmdale and it was very early in the morning. I was driving myself and I hit black ice. I don't know if you've ever hit black ice but when you do you never forget it. My car spun out of control and went back down in the ravine. As soon as my legs stopped shaking I was able to drive it out and continue down the freeway to my location to shoot the commercial.

My favorite one...you mean besides Tim Allen??
I would have to say Judd Nelson because we had so many scenes together in Spiral Staircase and he was such a giving actor. He helped me so much with my character.
DebbeDunning25 karma
I didn't have to sneak a peak, it's not like he walked around with a fence in front of him 24/7.

I don't have one favorite episode. But one of the most memorable was when we went river rafting and Tim, Earl and myself were tossed out of the raft. There were so many funny episodes that the audience was able to see but when you ask a question like that I think back more of that week we were shooting and the experience I had with the cast and crew.

Would you consider yourself a target demographic of RFD-TV or is that just where your show landed?
DebbeDunning10 karma
My show is being produced by RFD-TV although I feel this show would be successful on any network.
DebbeDunning9 karma
I chose to produce a show all about dude ranches because they are one of the best vacations you can take with your family to reconnect and experience something unlike any other vacation I've ever been on. The experience you take home with you will last a lifetime.
DebbeDunning7 karma
Probably one that comes out my kitchen, usually a cake. That's what my kids say.

Are dude ranches only a mid-western thing or are they all over the country?
DebbeDunning11 karma
They are all over the country. They're as far as Costa Rica, Australia, Hawaii. You'd be surprised, they're everywhere.

Good afternoon and thanks ever so much for doing this. As a man in my thirties, Heidi, the Tool-time girl(you) was one of my first "Celebrity" crushes. Is it weird to be this cross between wholesome Actress/girl next door/sex symbol?
